Join our network of scribes

We’re always looking for talented, intelligent and curious individuals to join our team of visual thinkers on exciting and diverse projects. Our current focus is to expand our UK- and London-based network with scribes who can work both digitally and on paper for on-site and remote events. However, whether you’re based in the UK or not, we’d still love to hear from you. So if you think you’ve got potential as a scribe, try this exercise:

Listen to this talk by Yuval Noah Harari, then create a piece of scribing that you feel captures his key messages and conveys his theme in a clear, concise, and engaging way.

To set some realistic constraints, and so that we can get an idea of how you work, we ask that you:

  • Draw and listen to the talk simultaneously

  • Spend no longer than 60 minutes on the whole exercise

  • Capture a screen recording of the process (less than 50MB)

  • Produce a final scribe at A3 size, 300dpi

We’re not expecting perfection - we know it’s tough! We just want to get a sense of how you think and work. It might help to take a look at some examples of our digital scribing before you start, to get a sense of how we use type, image, colour and structure, and the amount of content we expect, but please feel free to bring your own approach to the challenge. These were all produced in 60 minutes:

Please send your final scribe and screen recording to our Senior Producer, Caroline, at caroline@scriberia.com with the subject line “Scribe Try-out”. If you have an online portfolio or Instagram account featuring relevant work, please share these too.
