Street to school
It's a simple fact that there are tens of millions of children, around the world, living on the street. But how they got there, and how we can help them, is more complicated.
But Aviva believes in standing up for them and, following the success of its Street to School programme, which has changed the lives of half a million of the world's most vulnerable children, they stepped their mission up a gear.
In December 2013, they invited 32 organisations, including the United Nations, UNICEF Save the Children, and representatives from the worlds of politics and business, to join them in round-table discussions, with the aim of finding the best ways to protect and promote the rights of children who live or work on the street.
‘These children are often almost invisible and the issues they face are complex – so what better way to tell their story than a Scriberia animation,’ said David Schofield, Aviva’s Head of Corporate Responsibility.
We were delighted to be asked by Aviva to create an animation that would explain simply the inherent challenges of the problem. After two days of energetic and optimistic discussion, we captured the ideas that emerged in a single illustrated image.
David said: ‘Simple, stark and setting out to provoke action, we were delighted with the result. Not just because it looked good but because it worked, too. The campaign engaged millions around the world and helped us come together for street kids.’
